The Top 10 Smartphone Apps for Entrepreneurs (2020)

by Positive Hustle

What with almost every single phone being sold on the market today being a smartphone, more and more apps are being released every day in every category possible. Fortunately for entrepreneurs, an incredibly popular category for developers is business apps.

Every entrepreneur should be making the most of these apps to ensure they can make things a lot easier for themselves, especially when travelling around the world.

Unfortunately, most of the apps on the market are fairly mediocre and probably won’t be of much help.

Top 10 Smartphone Apps For Entrepreneurs

With that being said, there are still a selective few that are brilliant and that every entrepreneur should be using to their advantage. Here are 10 of them.

1. DropBox

DropBox is an essential app for any entrepreneurs looking to access all their files on the go. Rather than having to take a USB or hard drive everywhere with you, the DropBox app allows you to just log in and then simply download any files that you need.

There’s nothing more to it than that. It can also be very useful if you work on many different computers, instead of just the one. You’ll have access to all your files no matter which machine you’re operating from.

2. Evernote

I’m pretty sure that a lot of smartphones actually come with Evernote already installed on them. I didn’t even know about Evernote until one day when I looked through the apps on my phone, after owning it for a year, and spotted that the app was on there.

For those who don’t know, Evernote is an app that allows you to write down notes whenever you get a blast of inspiration or just need to remember an appointment or ‘to do’ list.

It doesn’t matter where you are, and you can even take photos or record yourself and with the note, as well as showing your location when writing it.

3. HootSuite

I’ve only just started using HootSuite, but it’s already proving to be of great use. For anybody who uses a lot of social networks to promote their business, then HootSuite will save you a great deal of time.

It allows you to schedule messages for various social networks, whether it be photo’s, links or just text.

That way, you’ll be able to schedule broadcasts for as many days as you like, from a single dashboard without having to keep copying and pasting onto different websites several times a day.

Trust me, if you’re not using it or a similar app, then you need to be! It’s fairly cheap to get a ‘Pro’ subscription.

4. Google+

There’s no doubt that Google+ is brilliant and has become a very popular social network.

Not just for business promotion, in the similar way to a Facebook page or Twitter account, but also for being able to connect with other entrepreneurs, businesses, clients and so on, through messages or simple video calling.

So having an app for it should be perfect right? Exactly, definitely one to be using. Tweak Your Biz went a lot more into detail on why Google+ can benefit entrepreneurs hugely. Might be worth a read if you’re considering focusing on Google+ more in the near future.

5. Mint

Mint is an amazing app for being able to clearly track all your expenditures and your income. It breaks things down for you nicely so you’re able to see what you’ve spent in various categories.

For example, mortgages, food etc. Not only that, but you’re able to set budgets and identify any goals you have for the future such as going on holiday.

Which is where Mint can help show you how on track you are to be able to afford what you want, and also give you advice on how to reach your financial goals more quickly. It’s been rated highly by The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

6. Free Wi-Fi Finder

It’s a no-brainer right?

If you’re a entrepreneur who’s going to be travelling a lot, then it’s most likely you’ll want quick internet access to be able to connect with people, check up on things and produce work when you’re not at home.

The reason this app is one of the top smartphone apps for entrepreneurs is because it lets you locate all the free Wi-Fi hot-spots around you, no matter where you are, so you can quickly connect to the internet whilst you’re out.

It’s perfect for bloggers or business owners who perhaps like doing a little work in coffee shops, writing a fresh blog post, answering emails etc. This way they know exactly where they can get their hands on free WiFi.

7. Full

This app has gotten incredible recognition. It has already featured on Mashable’s article for 15 underrated apps that every entrepreneur should use, and has become one of the top 5 productivity apps available. On top of this, it’s one of the top 100 paid apps on the App Store.

What ‘Full’ is, is an app that helps you track and measure your progress in your current goals or tasks you have outstanding. You can write down an unlimited number of goals, and how many times you want to complete that goal.

For example, you have a goal to exercise, and you want to do this 15 times in a month.

The app will track how many times you’ve exercised and as you get closer the highlighted color will change slowly from red, to orange to green. Definitely one to get if you lose track of your monthly goals.

8. Lift

If you look at the Lift website, the tagline is “Succeed at everything”. If that doesn’t intrigue you then I don’t know what will. Lift is actually a very similar app to ‘Full’, in that you are able to set goals, analyse and track your progress.

However, the difference is that ‘Lift’ is geared towards checking out their experts existing goals to see what inspires you, or that of the community. If you don’t like any of their goals, you can still set your own, but you always have some inspiration there for when you need it.

All in all, it’s another excellent goal tracking app for you to check out.

9. CloudMagic

CloudMagic is essentially an app that combines your email accounts with popular business tools. One of which, Evernote, is listed above as 1 of the top 10 smartphone apps for entrepreneurs.

It can be great to use when searching for all your files across the different tools you’re using, and is another app that has been recommended by The Wall Street Journal as “The best email app on Iphone and Android.”

10. Audible

Last but not least of the top 10 smartphone apps for entrepreneurs, is Audible.

Audible is a great app for listening to your favorite audio books on the go, and I’m sure that every entrepreneur is interested and willing to hear new stories, perhaps from their favorite entrepreneurs or role models.

It’s an absolutely excellent way of learning new information whilst on the go, in an environment that you may otherwise be fairly bored in.

Plus, as many of you may know, it’s an Amazon company so you know that the app’s going to be good and be constantly updated with new books.

Definitely a smartphone app worth having, especially if you’re not the sort of person who would normally sit around and read ordinary paper-back books.

Thanks for checking out the top 10 smartphone apps for entrepreneurs. Which of these apps do you have installed on your smartphone?
